Painting: Guthrie Jazz Banjo Festival 1997; oil painting by K. Mack Boles. The Guthrie Jazz Banjo Festival originated in 1992 as the brainchild of Brady R. Hunt, an attorney in Midwest City, Oklahoma. The festival was held every Memorial Day weekend for 16 consecutive years. The festival was under the direction of Brady Hunt until 2004, at which time Mr. Hunt deeded the festival to the National Four-String Banjo Museum Hall of Fame to be used as a fundraiser. |
