Sphere Of Activity	Rob Wright began taking banjo lessons from Charley Shortino at Manolios Music in Huntington Beach, California at age 10. Rob started a jazz band, American Ingenuity, in high school and began playing professionally at 16 years of age. He was a soloist at Baxter's Street restaurant in Newport Beach until he moved to Tucson, Arizona with his family and helped start the Gaslight Theater. Rob moved back to California and began playing in bars and clubs including the Disneyland Hotel eventually joining the New Christy Minstrels and performing in all 50 States in the U.S. After leaving the Christies, he married Linda and they continued touring the western states as the duo, Variety, in which Rob developed his unique blend of music and comedy. Rob and Linda settled down in Big Bear Lake, California where Linda taught school and Rob managed ski shops and finished college. During that time they were a very popular casual act throughout Southern California and Arizona. They moved to Tucson in 1994, along with daughter Lacey, where Linda continued to teach school and Rob began a career as a Financial Advisor. After several years performing with the Rob Wright Dixieland Showband, Rob was asked to join The Original Wildcat Jass Band comprised of music professors and alumni of the University of Arizona. Rob has been touring with the Wildcats throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada ever since. With the Wildcats Rob has recorded 5 albums and an additional seven albums as a soloist. Although Rob appears mostly with the Wildcats now, he occasionally entertains at banjo festivals as a soloist and with pianist Ray Templin as the duo Rhythm & Rhyme.
